Chris Driscoll, a tremendously talented and promising young Island musician, died tragically in January of 2005 as a result of a skiing accident. The Chris Driscoll Memorial Workshops are named in honour of Chris’ passion for a musical life.
Workshops are not just for musicians. They are for anyone interested in learning more about music in general and jazz and blues in particular.
Chris Driscoll Memorial Workshops are brought to you free of charge through the generous sponsorship of Mark's Work Wearhouse.

Blues guitar virtuoso Jack Semple will present a free workshop in beautiful St. Paul's Anglican Church on Thursday, August 18 at 1 pm. This is Jack's first trip to PEI (from home town Regina), so this will be the first chance for Islanders to hear this extraordinary musician...also a unique chance to preview his performance later that night at our mainstage in Murpy's Community Centre.
An unblievable treat! "Canada's gift to the piano", Oliver Jones, will give a free workshop in glorious St. Paul's Anglican Church right after the Gold Cup parade (12:15) on Friday, August 19. Don't pass up this chance for a relaxed encounter with a jazz legend. Oliver Jones..twenty albums, four Junos, Order of Canada, G_G's Award for Lifetime Achievement.. playing in a room with unmatched acoustics.. for free. Life is good.
Alex Dean, a master of the tenor saxophone and member of the University of Toronto faculty of music, will give a free workshop on Saturday, August 20 (4pm) at Casa Mia Cafe. Alex will be joined by Charlottetown's own guitar wizard and educator Ian Toms for what promises to be a lively and informative session. Expect great music and a great cafe menu.
