2:15pm Free Concert (Outdoor Stage)

11:30pm Kwik Kopy Late Night

For nearly fifteen years  the Mellotones have been taking Halifax events to their next level.. party level!  A Thursday night staple at the Seahorse Tavern in Halifax, The Mellotones are in steady demand as Halifax's favourite dance and go-big-or-go-home party band.. a tight ensemble with top-notch vocals and powerful horns backed by solid funky grooves.
With a nine-man roster of full-time musicians fronted by a four-piece choreographed horn-line, the band dishes out a hardy diet of Funk, Soul and R&B.  To Quote bandleader Jeffrey Mosher, “Everybody in the band is full time music.. teaching it, playing it, recording it, or just living it.”
In addition to leading the band, Mosher covers sax and vocals.  His fellow horn players are Jody Lyne, Rob Crowell and Eric Landry. The rhythm section reads like a who’s who of the best in  Halifax featuring Brad Conrad, Ian Mosher, Lil Thomas, Mike Farrington Jr. and Damien Moynihan.

The Mellotones will also be part of a free concert right after the Gold Cup Parade (Friday, Aug.19 1pm) in front of Murphy's Community Centre.  Lounge on the lawn in front of the historic Coles building and soak up the sounds of this powerhouse group.
