The TD PEI Jazz and Blues Festival School Tour will take place March 12-16 at PEI schools from Souris to Summerside.  For its third annual school tour the Festival will be presenting one of the Maritimes' most exciting young musicians, Ian Sherwood.  Ian has twice been named Music Nova Scotia's "Musician of the Year" (2008, 2010).  No stranger to the Island, Ian is a former member of PEI's fabled "Jive Kings".  He is well versed in the complexities of jazz and very comfortable with blues, latin and other world genres.

A man of many talents, Ian is an accomplished singer, guitarist, saxophonist and songwriter who makes extensive use of digital "looping" technology to build choral, instrumental and rhythmic environments as his performances are unfolding.    Ian can start a tune with a simple guitar riff and before long create a full big band/ chorus line arrangement.  Students of all ages will be enthralled with his digital, instrumental and vocal mastery and captured by his musicality and entertaining personality.

The Festival wishes to thank the Culture, Heritage and Libraries branch of PEI Tourism and Culture for their assistance.  We would also like to gratefully acknowledge our school tour sponsors, Purity Dairy and MacBeth Brothers Roofing.
