Murphy's Community Cente
Truly an international jazz star, Quebec's funk/fusion bass master Alain Caron combines chest-thumping groove and mind-bending musicality. He will bring his virtuoso technique and world-touring quartet to Murphy's Community Centre (Thursday, Aug 16). Founder of fusion supergroup “UZEB”, Alain Caron has toured over 30 countries, recorded 20 albums and taught master classes in most of the world’s major cities, including Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bogota, London, Rome, Amsterdam, Geneva, and Frankfurt. He has appeared as a featured guest on 25 additional recordings and won 10 Felix Awards, a Gemeaux and an Oscar Peterson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Montreal Jazz Festival. Alain Caron has also received an honourary Doctorate from Université de Quebec, the only musician ever so honoured. Jazz Report magazine has ranked Alain Caron “Best Bass Player“ for the past 10 years in a row.
Alain Caron will be appearing with long-time bandmates Simon Langlois (drums), John Roney (keyboards) and Pierre Côté (guitar), musicians who have performed or recorded with such stars as Johnny Mandel, Celine Dion, Nick Brignola and the Benny Goodman Orchestra.
