Wed, Aug 15, 7:30,
Ross Neilsen and his band (Karl Gans, drums and Will Pacey, bass) will be the headlining musicians at the Vector Blues Bash in Summerside.
Canada’s hardest working blues rock act, Ross Neilsen has done over 1000 shows and travelled half a million kilometers in the past six years. Proving hard work pays off, Ross Neilsen has been honoured with a nomination for Best New Artist at The Maple Blues Awards in 2010, two Rising Star nominations from CBC, back to back Blues Album of the Year nominations from the East Coast Music Association, a win for Best Blues Recording for Redemption at the 2010 MusicNB awards and more recently Ross has been selected to represent Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. Ross Neilsen is the real, old school kind of artist. Write. Tour. Record. Tour. Repeat.
Also on the Summerside bill will be local favourites, West End Blues Band, a group that has almost single-handedly fostered a weekly and rather wildly enthusiastic Summerside blues scene at “The Wing”. The band ( Troy Macarthur and James Phillips, guitars and vocals, Owen Hann, bass and Reg Ballagh, drums) will be joined by Tryon’s amazing Barrie Sorensen on saxophone.
The Vector Blues Bash is a presentation of Vector Aerospace.
