Late Night at Fishbones

Musician, Composer and arranger, Sean Ferris has brought together bandmates Chas Guay (bass and guitar) and Dale DesRoches (drums) with whom he has performed in various groups for more than 20 years.  One of those groups was "The Dogs", which became a mainstay of the local music scene and performed as house band for various well-known Charlottetown pubs.  Their strong reputation also led to stage and recording engagements with a wide variety of acts, from Prince Edward Island’s own Stompin’ Tom to Rolling Stone guitarist and bluesman Mick Taylor.
With Ferris, Guay and DesRoches, performing their own brand of improvisational ‘jazz funk electronica ‘ you can expect an evening of original compositions improvised on the fly from the first downbeat to the final chord.
As last year's “Doug Riley Artist’ Sean presented a concert of Doug’s music as well as some of his own compositions.  Sean has invited this years “Doug Riley Artist”, Barrie Sorenson, to join in for this Tuesday “Late Night’ improv session.

Another special guest will be masterful guitarist Norm Zocher.. a perrenial summer favourite on PEI whose sensational pedal steel playing was a high point during Sean's concert last summer.

AND.. this group keeps growing!  Added to the program is Alex Dean, one of Canada's foremost jazz saxophonists. Among the artists he has recorded and/or performed with are Gil Evans, Kenny Wheeler, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Harry Connick Jr., Phil Nimmons, the Dave McMurdo Jazz Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.. and that's about hal the list!
