In the Schools

Once again we brought our festival into the schools.  PEI jazz artist Ian Toms lead  a combo traveling to Island schools giving workshops and performances to over a thousand students.  Joining Ian were PEI musicians Jon Rehder (guitar, bass, keyboards)

and Steve Reid (saxophone), with special guest Alan Dowling.

Our 2011 dates are set... August 15-21 (Monday-Sunday)

You can sell the rubber boots and parka.. Mainstage concerts are moving out of the tent and into Murphy’s Community Centre.

Launch & Dance


The full festival program will be officially unveiled at a fundraiser/dance to be held on the evening of Friday, May 13 at Confederation Centre in Studio One, next door to Mavor's.  Music - including jazz, R&B, soul, pop, rock and funk - is being donated by Groove Company, a six piece band featuring a horn line and a roster of veteran Island musicians including three former members of the Jive Kings.   The dance goes from 9 to midnight and admission at the door is $10.

Jazzandblues.ca is getting a make-over. 

If all goes well the new site will be up and running by May 16.
